Eye Makeup Techniques

Even though many people might cringe at the thought of gothic eye makeup techniques but you might be surprised what the girls that wear the gothic styles know that you might not!  So let go of your thoughts about gothic eye makeup techniques and see what’s in store for you if you follow some of those eye makeup techniques!

So lets start from the basics.  Gothic eye make up is always so dark and they do so many crazy things with it but how in the world do they get that make up to stay in place and not smudge, run, or move on their eyes?  Well there is a product out there that’s called primer and its one of the eye makeup techniques that you don’t want to forget about.  Primer is a clear product that you put on your eye lids (or any place that you would like to have your eye make).  Usually this product is put on with a brush and don’t be shy with it.  You put it on before you put on your foundation or face powder.  As a matter of fact its not suggested that you put any make up on your eyes at all besides the primer and the actual eye make up that you will put on after the primer.

Keep in mind that gothic eye makeup techniques are all about drama and making a big impression.  Its not about everything being black at all.  The next step is going to be add some color to those eyes!  If your going for a truly gothic look then you may want to use a dark blue, bright red, dark purple or even black eye shadow.  Don’t be shy with it either!  With this first layer of color try to keep it close to the lash and no farther than above the crease.  Now go ahead and add a lighter shade of the first color above the crease of the eye lid.

Of course you cant have gothic eye makeup techniques with out talking about eye liner!  Now for those of you who are not going for the gothic look you may want to go easy on this part but for those that are going for the drama of the gothic look go ahead and view your eye liner as a paint brush and your eyes are the canvas!
